Christina Danaee is a textile designer and artist based in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Rooted in costume design and art history, her work bridges tradition and innovation, drawing on the histories of craft and the urgency of sustainability. Her practice began in knitwear, designing more than 75 original patterns since 2011 and authoring Modern Heritage Knits, a collection of 15 designs inspired by the American yarn industry and its cultural significance. Her designs have been featured in publications such as Pom Pom Magazine, Nomadic Knits, and more, highlighting her role in shaping contemporary conversations around handmade textiles.
In 2023, she turned her attention to the legacy of handmade quilts, building a personal collection and developing a body of work that reimagines them as wearable garments. Her debut collection, launching in late 2025, extends her ongoing exploration of the tension between preservation and reinvention.
Guided by a deep respect for material histories, her pieces ask how inherited objects and techniques can be transformed while retaining their spirit. Each garment reflects the interplay between past and present, intention and adaptation—an inquiry into how craft traditions can evolve while continuing to tell human stories.
